  2. The Romance of the Three Kingdoms starts with the Yellow Turban Rebellion followed by The Sword has Two Edges story. As the civil war destroys the empire, three main factions arise: Wei, led by Cao Cao, Shu, led by Liu Bei, and Wu, led by Sun Quan. Cao Cao has the largest military force, while Liu Bei has the smallest. However, Liu Bei is aided by Zhuge Liang, a genius strategist who helps him win many victories, such as the Battle of the Red Cliffs, where Cao Cao was defeated by the allied forces of Shu and Wu. After many years of fighting and the death of Sun Quan, Cao Cao, Liu Bei, Zhuge Liang and many other famous warriors of that time, Cao Pi's (who is Cao Cao’s son) commander Sima Yi's sons take control of the empire and a new dynasty is formed: the Jin dynasty.

What interests me is that although Shu has many renowned warriors such as Zhang Fei and Guan Yu and the strategic intelligence of Zhuge Liang, the war is lost to Sun Quan and Cao Cao. It reminds me of the book The Silmarillion by J.R.R Tolkien, where the heroism of the Elves and Men were not even enough to combat the Enemy of the World: Morgoth.
Also, some fictitious events written entered into traditional Chinese culture. The “non-history" parts have different sources such as folk stories, unofficial historical records and some were even created by the author on his own..
Romance of the Three Kingdoms, features Liu Bei and his kingdom as the protagonist; hence the depiction of the people in Shu-Han was glorified. The antagonists, Cao Cao, Sun Quan and their kingdoms, on the other hand, were often denigrated. I wonder why.

  3. Romance of the Three kingdom started with a cycle of division and unification. It was the division of the seven feudal lords of the Warring State. The power struggle between these states were huge. The most powerful lords among them were Cao Cao, Liu Bei and Sun Quan. It was started by the Yellow Turban Rebellion followed by The Sword Has Two Edges. Liu Bei's power was the weakest with Cao Cao's as the strongest. Liu Bei had many strong warriors like Guan Yu, Zhang Fei, Zhuge Liang, Zhao Yun and Pang Tong.Cao Cao established the kingdom Of Wei, Liu Bei established the kingdom of Shu Han and Sun Quan established the kingdom of Wu. The heroes pitted their wit and strength against each other for ultimate victory. Hence, despite having a short history, this was a momentous and bloodiest time of Chinses History.

What interests me most was Zhuge Liang, Liu Bei's military statergist's, plots and talents. His most famous strategies are Using Straw Boats to Borrow Arrows, Stone Sentinel Maze and Empty Fort Strategy. These stratergies helped Zhuge Liang attain victory in battle. He was belived to be the inventor of Man Tou, the landmine and the Zhuge Nu, a reapeated cross bow that could fire faster and further. Although he has many successful plots, Liu Bei did not managed to win Cao Cao and Sun Quan. All states were ruled as one under the Jin Empire by Sima Yi. Sima Yi was a despicable person and sly. He is not worth being the ultimate victor. Liu Bei should be the ultimate victor since he is a kind emperor and has great character. How I wish Sima Yi did not win.

  4. Romance of the three kingdom started when china was thrown into a state of chaos after the Han dynasty. Many lords such as yuan shao, cao cao, sun jian, dong zhuo, liu bei and others tried to destroy and kill each other to become the next emperor of China.

The story ‘The sword has two edges’ is about dong zhuo and his adopted son, Lu bu fighting for diao chan, one of the greatest four Beauties of ancient China. Dong zhuo holds power in the imperial court and no one dared to opposed him as his adopted son Lubu is very skilled in martial art. In the end, dong zhuo got killed by Lu bu.

Soon, after a few years, china was left with three lords, liu bei, sun quan and cao cao. In the battle of chi bi, liu bei formed an alliance with sun quan and defeated cao cao. Liu bei had a very clever advisor called zhuge liang. With the help of zhuge liang, liu bei found the state, shu.

Soon, liu bei began to lose power when his brothers guan yu and zhang fei died. Liu bei knew that sun quan had murdered guan yu and brought most of his army to fight sun quan. However, liu bei was defeated by one of sun quan general, lu xun. Soon, liu bei fell ill due to depression and died subsequently. Cao cao and sun quan died soon as well one after the other.

Zhuge liang continued to help liu bei’s son fight cao cao and died at the age of 54. Upon hearing this news, cao pi’s advisor sima yi attacked states, shu and wu. Both Shu and Wu was defeated and china was once again united. Sima yi betrayed cao pi and became china’ new emperor.

  5. Romance of the three kingdoms started when the Yellow turbans rebelled. After the rebellion was suppressed, Dong Zhuo came into power. Many warlords joined forces to campaign against Dong Zhuo. But they did not manage to defeat Dong Zhuo.

Dong Zhuo reign ended with the story 'The Sword Has Two Edges'.He was killed by his foster son Lu Bu because of a woman named Diao Chan.

After Dong Zhuo's reign, the lords fought for power. After a few years, only three kingdoms remained:Shu,Wei and Wu.

During that period, there were many epic battles such as the red cliff.

Shu was losing power as Liu Bei's sworn brothers: Zhang Fei and Guan Yu died. When Liu Bei learnt that his brothers were killed by Sun Quan, he decides to avenge them. Cao Cao soon also died after Guan Yu's death.Wei was entrusted to Cao Pi, Cao Cao's son.

Meanwhile, Liu Bei was defeat at the battle of Xiao Ting and dies of old age soon after that battle.

Zhuge Liang advised Liu Bei's son against Wei. Both raged war for three decades.

When Zhuge Liang died, Sima Yi took the chance and defeated Shu. Then Wei defeasted Wu leading to the end of the war. Sima Yi then upsurped the throne and the new dynasty: Jin was formed.

  6. The Romance of the Three Kingdoms started when the Han dynasty, which was under Emperor ling, fell the the Yellow Turban's Rebellion. When Emperor Ling died, a new emperor called Emperor Shan took over the throne. Resenting the manipulation of eunuchs, two generals Yuan Shao and He Jin plotted to murder them. During the chaos created, an official, Dong Zhuo, attacked Luoyang and dethroned Emperor Shao and put Emperor Xian on the throne. Dong's deeds were not well received by officials and a large-scale civil war finally broke out. During that time, Cao Cao held Emperor Xian under duress and took this advantage to strengthen his military power and tried to expand his power south but was defeated by the allied forces of Liu Bei and Sun Quan in the Battle of Red Cliff. The three kingdoms were then founded, with Wei occupying the north, Shu occupying the southwest and Wu occupying the southeast. Throughout the Three Kingdoms Period, battles between the three countries were countless. The end of three kingdoms began with Sima Yan's usurpation of Wei and the establishment of the Jin Dynasty and ended when the Jin army conquered Wu's capital.

What interests me most is how this war started. Due to one rebellion and the chaos created, many people started fighting because either they did not like the new emperor or either because they wanted power. I would prefer democracy rather than what had happened, violence almost instantly due to some disagreements
